Last Weekend Brunch Adventure Ride - September 2019

Celebrate Fall

Sunday, September 29, we'll gather in Purcellville to do a little countryside riding. We will be on rural roads, often 2 lane with narrow shoulders as well as a short distance on the W&OD Trail. Moving as a group will enhance our safety, but please take the terrain into account. Everyone should have a rear red blinky light on their bike.

NOTE TO FAST RIDERS: If you are gifted with speed, that's great and we appreciate you. However, this is a ride established to include the more social riders and we will hold the speed down to include everyone. If you are far enough ahead of the ride that we cannot communicate with you, you have left the ride. If you have trouble going slow, try putting yourself into your most challenging gear and working on form rather than speed.

Meet at 9:45AM and we roll at 10:00AM.

This is a series of more social rides with a slower pace, an enjoyable destination, and no urgency to get anywhere by anytime. The distance for this one will be about 24 miles total, with a lunch stop at the end. The ride is limited to 25 riders. Riders should be able to sustain a 10mph pace over 20 miles.

The exact destination will not be revealed until the riders sign up -- that’s part of the adventure. All riders must sign (or have already signed for 2019) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.

We can assure you this:

  1. The destination always involves food (bring your wallet because we’re leading but not buying!)
  2. Bring a lock and some type of hydration.
  3. No one gets left behind unless they want to be.
  4. Every rider must wear a helmet.

We hope to be back by 2. But we’re all adults, so if you want to stay longer at the destination or go your own way after brunch, by all means, have a great time.

Well behaved adults are welcome, and children who have those same standards may bring their parents if they can vouch for their behavior as well.

If a non-riding spouse/partner/friend wants to meet us at the destination for brunch, that's great!
