Ramble? What is? A leisurely tour with combination of roads and the W&OD exploring new places discovered during the pandemic and our old RBC routes.
This week we'll go west, all on the W&OD. We'll start at Belmont Ridge Rd trailhead (put Jackpit Lane Ashburn in your GPS and you'll get there). From there, we're headed to Purcellville for a great cup of coffee and delicious (if you're so inclined) pastries @ SweetRose Bakeshop. It's 15 miles each way, and the return is all downhill after Clark's Gap. For those of you who have been wanting to stretch your legs without stops for traffic lights, this is the ride for you.
Still, the average speed of this ride is no more than 12 mph: leisurely. It is a good ride for retired, daytime free, new to cycling, or happy people. Could be considered a base miles ride.
Rides are not held when the forecast for rain is greater than 50%. Ride cancellations will be posted on Social Media.
We are paper-free, which means you can download the route from RidewithGPS and print it before you come, but we will not have paper cue sheets to distribute at the ride. Further, for this ride, I'm not posting a route because this is literally ALL TRAIL. You can't get lost!
All riders must sign (or have already signed for 2021) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.
