Brief Description

Riders can select from routes of approximately 33, 66, and 105 miles. The challenging Century, and Metric routes follow beautiful rolling rural roads through scenic historical towns such as Hamilton, Purcellville, Round Hill, Waterford, and Taylorstown. The Half-Metric is relatively flat. The rides are fully supported with rest stops and food, bike mechanics, and SAG vehicles.

Approximate ride distances are:

--Century: 105 miles
--Metric Century: 66 miles
--Half Metric Century: 33 miles

General Information:

Rides are self-paced and self-directed via cue sheets and route signage. Rest stops with abundant food/drink, first aid and mechanical support are provided every 15-20 miles. All routes are covered by radio-dispatched SAG support.

Free parking for 1500+ is available at the Reston Town Center garages. Note the height limits for roof racks!

Ride Smart:

Helmets must be worn by all riders. Riders are expected to have a well equipped bicycle in good working condition, and should be able to perform their own minor repairs. Repair support will be available. Bring adequate clothing, water bottles, spare tubes or patches, a pump and extra money.

Start and Finish:

The ride start and finish is at the Reston Town Center.

All Century riders must start by 9:00 am. All other riders must start by 10:00 am.

Rides must be completed by 5pm.

Registration and Packet Information:

Pre-registrations completed by August 18th will be mailed an identification wrist band and ride information. Pre-registered riders will not need to check in at ride start.  All riders will pickup the cue sheet and map for your ride at the RBC Tent at the ride start. 

All riders will pick up their T-shirt following the ride.

On site registrations will receive a T-shirt (size as available).

T-shirts will not be mailed to no-shows, but you may authorize someone to pick up your shirt on ride day.

Who Can Ride?

The Century is open to all riders. Children in trailers ride free, but must have a signed waiver. Parents or legal guardians must accompany children under 15 years, and for children under 18 years, sign the Release and Waiver on the registration form.

Fees:

--Advanced registration (until Aug 17th): $40                      Id wrist band and ride information will be mailed to you.
--On-site registration (Aug 25) $60 cash or check only.

The Festival:

RBC will host the post-tour festival from 1pm till 5pm, with food service until 4:30 PM and music at the Reston Town Center Pavilion. It is free of charge to participating cyclists! You may have your friends and family join you for $15.00 each.

Reston Bicycle Club welcomes bicycling-related organizations and non-profits to apply for a grant to further their work. The Club will provide up to $1000 per approved grant. Grants are reviewed at the next Executive Board Meeting following the request. Candidates will be informed of grant decision after the meeting.
