This event is intended for RBC Level 1 riders.

Our group riding norms:

  1. We protect our front wheel by keeping it behind the wheel in front of us
  2. We handle draft merging gracefully in receiving acknowledgment before we get in front of another rider's wheel.
  3. We have responsibility for the rider behind us in pointing out potholes, turns, braking, and calling out sudden stops.
  4. We ride with the yellow line rule by not crossing it even when passing others up hills
  5. We hold ourselves responsible to be respectful of others.
  6. We understand cars have the right away regardless of the traffic laws (if they stop in front of us, we all stop behind the vehicle).
  7. We do not allow TT bikes, Tri bikes or aero bars on a road bike.
  8. We do not allow E-bikes
  9. We do not allow earbuds
  10. Snot Rockets.  When you have to clear your nose be sure to move to the back of the peloton before you do.

Virginia Laws:

  1. We avoid riding in packs and only ride up to two abreast.
  2. We ride with a white headlamp during sunset and night
  3. We ride with a red reflector or red taillight on the rear on roads with a speed limit of 35 miles an hour or greater

Registration:

You must be on the registration list and you must be on time. We will leave promptly.

We are paper-free, which means you can download the route from Ride with GPS and print it before you come, but we will not have paper cue sheets to distribute at the ride.

All riders please  sign (or have already signed for 2023) a liability waiver. You can do that HERE. The first ride with us is free. We welcome you to join us on subsequent rides as a member. Membership is $25 per year and you can take care of that HERE.
