Registration is closed

This is a shorter route, to accommodate those who overdid it the two preceding days.

  1. USGS is a sprint, and there’s a de facto deceleration afterward so we can all cross Reston Parkway together.

  2. I don’t need to tell you not to swerve into the wrong lane while turning from Twin Branches onto Glade, right?

  3. There is very often debris on Lawyer’s Rd. Call it out. It’s probably no place for PRs.

  4. Birdfoot ends in a sharp right turn with gravel and oncoming traffic. You should be finishing your descent slowly enough that you don’t need to swerve into oncoming traffic.

  5. Slow roll on Stuart Mill until everyone has completed the descent.

  6. Feel free to hammer on Stuart Mill, but don’t cross the yellow line. Quoting from the Tuesday 1 Ride: “When we make turns onto roads we make sure it is safe for anyone behind us.  This is the most important rule. In particular, the first rider at the top of the final hill on Stuart Mill is responsible for checking the intersection at Fox Mill and ensuring that the entire group can roll through safely.”

  7. Quoting again: “The ride is neutral after Franklin Farm due to ensure safety in the neighborhoods. We can continue at a brisk pace, but there are too many blind to continue at full intensity.”

Normal club rules:

  • No tri bikes, no e-bikes.

  • No earbuds.
